Summer 2019 — Team Video Game Project


A VR Escape Room designed from the perspective of a lab rat. This project was created in less than 8 weeks with mentorship from industry professionals. This project required unique solutions for optimization techniques on my part as the main surfacing artist. Since the player was at the scale of a rat, surfaces that would normally be seen at a distance would be seen up close. Surfacing was optimized through LOD mipmaps, UV map sharing, and overlapping UVs.

Our game can be downloaded here and played on the Oculus Rift.

Responsible for all non-2D environment surfacing, procedural and non-procedural.

Responsible for all in-engine materials.

Responsible for assisting the main programmer.

Responsible for modeling the following aspects:

  • All countertops and shelves

  • All lab bottles

  • Lab door

  • Lab room

  • Medical cart

  • Wall vent
